between the two scope mount rail screws is a larger screw. on the inside of this screw it holds a small guide plate. this directs the bullet into the chamber. its likelly to have been rammed up and bent by a bullet. just bend it down a bit. not to far. keep in mind the bullets have to eject back past it.
$1000 to $1200 and going up. No longer made and Remington has bought Marlin
If your model 55 shotgun is the regular shotgun with a 26in-28in barrel, then it is worth between 30-100 dollars. If it is the marlin goose gun with a 36in barrel they are going for between 90-200 dollars depending on the condition it is in.
how fast it is going
yes la'kiaya do like marlin they are going out now
Yes, it is called "spiking", although it is likely to cause the barrel to explode if the gun (or artillery piece) is fired. YOU CANNOT PREVENT A GUN GOING OFF, BY INSERTING YOUR FINGER INTO THE BARREL
No.
Will need the serial number to your marlin if we are going to help you on this question.
To the best of my knowledge No! Marlin has moved to North Carolina thou and Remington is still going strong.
I don't think there is such a model. There is a 336 30-30 in many variations, barrel length's, barrel shapes (octagon) stocks shape and material. Then there is a Marlin 39 which is a 22 calibre and many variations the same as the 336. So given the fact Marlin is not the Marlin we knew of in yesteryear. It was bought by Remington and many say the quality has gone down along with value. So to put a value on it, you must almost be a collector and you would evaluate the gun on each individual model (configuration). And then take into consideration what is it worth to you. Are you going to hunt/shoot it or just hang it in a display case and look at it. I say both, the lever guns are fun to operate/shoot and they are a beautifully crafted piece of Americana. I know this is not the answer the individual was looking for, it is my 2 cents.

Answer the glenfield by marlin is compatible with marlin 120 12ga barrels are available for the 120 the only difference is the stocks wich are also interchangable the 120 is higher quality I love my glenfieldThat model is obsolete and you are not going to find a slug barrel. If you must use slugs, you can have the existing barrel modified to accept interchangeable choke tubes and use a rifled tube when shooting slugs.
From what i seen online they were going for $400-$500.
