That is the correct spelling of "puddle" (as a noun, a liquid on a surface).
A puddle is the colour of water. However, the ground underneath would change the colour of the puddle.
It could be known as a puddle, or a pool of rain water.
Evaporation is a process in which the sun or heat turns a liquid into a gas. Ex. the Sun evaporates a puddle from the ground after it rains. That is why when you look into the same place the puddle was before, you do not see it. After a liquid is evaporated, it condensates into a cloud. When clouds get too heavy with water, the water comes down in a form of precipitation: rain, snow, hail, or sleet.
A puddle lamp is a light on the bottom of a car door that illuminates the ground when the door is openned. It lets you see what you are about to step in when you exit the car, be it a puddle or whatever.
When you unlock or open your door they illuminate the ground by your vehicle to warn of a puddle you might inadvertently step in.
liquid
A puddle on the ground and an overheating engine.
As the puddle dries out, the water is changed from a liquid into a water vapour. The vapour will be blown away by the wind.
After the rainstorm, the water in the puddle will be heated by the sun. As the water at the top of the puddle heats up, it will be converted to the gaseous phase and enter the air as water vapor. Any contaminants that are present in the puddle will be left behind on the ground.
It evaporates.
