the rings could be bad on your piston which causes oil to go into the head and mix with your fuel and burn up your spark plug
If the knock sensor failed the CEL (Check Engine Light) would be illuminated and the engine may "ping" or "spark knock" under load. Serious "spark knock" can damage the engine if allowed to continue.

To answer this question it would be helpful to have more information for example if your vehicle is older with high miles a worn out distributer can cause this problem
This is an older unit and a variety of problems could cause this ranging from low compression, weak spark, blown crankshaft seals, carburetor issues ect. your question would need to be more specific to really give a better answer.
