four strokes are more work ( if break down must replace like valves in stuff) and are more expensive, and heaver. two strokes are light and powerful, and plus they make non smoke premix now so now you can see the grass instead albino haze floating around you. the cheapest 2 stroke is about 60 and the cheapest 4 stroke is about 140 on ebay, if i were you I'd get a 2 stroke trimmer
