There are several possibilities. Loose suspension, warn U joints, motormounts or even a coke bottle rolling around in the back. Try to isolate the sound and note if it only occurs on braking. It may also occur on acceleration which would indicate to me that it is something other than the brakes themselves.
Bad Struts
A clunking noise, when you put your car into gear, is most likely caused by a bad u-joint. A problem in the transmission can also cause the noise.
brakes are need to be replace
Possibly a worn engine and/or gearbox mounting or exhaust mounting
cv joints
Sounds like your ball joints are shot. Could also be your axles. I had the same noise, clunking when i turned and it turned out to be my axles. Check the boots to see if they are ripped.
loose or bad u joints.
Have someone check your Engine mount
Possibly the sway bar bushings?
You probably need your bearings repacked
Worn out front sway bar links or bushings can do that.
either ur brakes ar gone or going so just check ur pads or ur cv joints are stuffed. u will show if u heaps a ticking type noise when u go around a corner on the side that u hear the noise from
