Your brake booster is malfunctioning
vacuum or air intake hose leaking or disconnected or loose...? good luck:)
If it it shutting off because of the hissing, it is likely moisture getting at electronic parts and shorting them. The hissing would be caused by cold water contacting hot engine parts. If the hissing is only heard after YOU shut off the car, it is likely a small leak in a vacuum hose. These are usually easily fixed.
Check your steering pump to see if you need to add more power steering fluid.
Vacuum brake booster is defective or the hose going to the booster is leaking.
What would cause a grinding noise after a tire is replaced and the brakes are not worn?
A radiator is a device found in the engine of vehicles that cools the engine by circulating air. A good sentence would be, the radiator in my truck is making a hissing noise.
A whistling noise indicates a vacuum leak.
cold engine
I have the same problem, hissing until touching the brake. I just read on another site that is the brake booster leaking, and since it's a vacuum leak it could trigger engine light to go on. I need to look further to discover whether it's a necessary repairsusan
A common cause for a gas gauge to stop working in a 1994 Ford Aspire is a defective fuel gauge. Lose wiring in the dash is another cause.
Many sending units do not have continuity below 6-7psi. This would cause the gauge to read nothing and indicate a base engine problem. Some type of engine noise would be associated with this concern (ie. ticking, rattling). The sending unit or wire to the gauge could be open. This would be an electrical problem and have nothing to do with the engine. Along that same line would be a defective gauge.
