My 2000 Lincoln Towncar's AirBag Dash light comes on when I statr the car, if flashes 3 times then 6 times (it does that a couple of times and then just "Stays On" ... I cannot presently locate data to direct me to the error. If it was a "Module" that needed re-setting that wouldn't be a major problem, however, I would hate doing that annd finding out that wasn't the problem. The car hasn't been involved in any type of impact. It all of a sudden just came on... I have removed the battery cables "Hoping" that it would erase the Code or something??? Just a try!
Has anyone had that problem??? What should I do?? I'm a marginal mechanic for many, many years, a very good "part replacer" etc...
The car has only 38,000 miles on it and is in "NEW" condition...

It's not the moduel!
My 2000 had the same issue exactly as your's.
I moved the seat all the way forward and up, then checked and pushed the harness connections into place.
Started the car and light the airbag light went OUT.
Must be from seat moving back and forth when you get in and leave the vehicle that caused a loose connection.
It's all good now.
Phu imagine the dealer price to fix it would be?
Hope this helped.
All the best.

The primary cause for the drive light to flash on a Honda Accord is a malfunction in the transmission. Error codes from the vehicle's computer can be read using an OBDII reader.
Contraction of the pupillary contrictor muscles.
if you have overdrive in that car it means that your about to go into overdrive
A malfunction has been detected - get it checked out
If you had new struts installed, they may have been installed improperly
A flashing check engine light is usually due to a misfire. see related questions below.
There are a couple of hundred things that can cause that light to come on or flash. Guessing can get very expensive so I would recommend you take it to the nearest parts store. Most of them have a digital reader and can tell you exactly what the problem is and how to correct for the least amount of money.
I was told by my cousin who is an auto mechanic that dirty oxygen sensors would cause that problem. You can either replace them or you can wash them.
If no light is on and no relay is stuck then the battery has a dead cell and needs replacing.
If the check engine light is flashing at 1 second intervals , an engine cylinder misfire has been detected
they both can be reflected sound would be reflected as an echo and light like when you flash a flash light at a mirror
