A number of interesting novels have been written on that topic, including "SS-GB" by Len Deighton, and "The Man In The High Castle" by Philip K. Dick. Of course, we can only speculate about this alternate version of history. There is no way to be certain of what the world would be like under those circumstances.

The Battle of Britain was an air struggle. The German goal at the beginning was to destroy the British Royal Air Force, so as to gain air supremacy over the British Isles. This was a necessary prerequisite before German troops could safely cross the English Channel and invade England. Plans for that invasion were being hastily prepared, under the code name Operation Sea Lion. The Germans had overrun France much faster than even they had anticipated, and were not prepared to immediately push on to try to invade England. Hitler really hoped the British would make the "sensible" choice and work out some sort of deal with Germany to end the war between them, so Germany could turn its attention to its real plan - the destruction of Russia. Hitler was enraged when the British refused to consider ending the war. For almost a year, between June 1940 and June 1941, only Great Britain and its Commonwealth nations remained at war with Nazi Germany.

Germany had no fleet of specialized amphibious attack ships and boats such as the US was developing and which would serve them so well in a hundred sea borne attacks through the war. The Germans were collecting barges and steamers from rivers and canals all over Europe as the Battle of Britain began, assembling them in French ports, preparatory to using them to ferry their troops over to England. But all these preparations were dependent on the Germans winning mastery of the skies over England. They came very close, and had the Germans continued to make their primary target the RAF, they might have pulled it off. Instead, Hitler, in one of his vindictive moods, ordered a switch to bombing cities, out of spitefulness. This gave the RAF just enough breathing space to stay in the fight.

The war would have continued for a longer period. By this stage of the war Germany had no chance of victory. The Americans and Soviets where out producing the Germans in war machinery by vast quantities, the Germans also lost a huge number of soldiers and they could no longer be replaced.

if the germans managed to destroy every man in the soviet army then they would have pushed back the russians back to Poland and sign another non-aggresion pact then germany would be able to concentrate on the western allies. once they've done that, they would invade britain and help Japan reconquer Asia and the pacific bringing america under axis control

Why did Britain need to win the battle of Britain?

Because if they didn't, the Germans would have control of all the air space and this would make Britain have a massive disadvantage.

What if Hitler had won the Battle of Britain?

If Hitler had won the Battle of Britain, It would have been less likely for the US to get involved in the European war. Low chance but plausible for the Germans to have won the war.

How did the battle of somme start?

it started because of the Germans invaded the France people it always mattered if they were in there territory something would happen to them

How would the world be different if the battle of Britain never existed?

difficult to answer, who knows what the Germans would have done. the battle of Britain in may 1940 over kent south east England, was a particularly viscous dogfight in which the RAF were literally fighting for their and Britain's lives. if the RAF hadnt destroyed the luftwaffe, then Germany without doubt would have had an easier time of invading England. this defeat totally demoralised the Germans and they realised that the RAF ruled the skies.

What would have happened if the Germans had been successful in the battle or Britain?

If Britain fell Germany would not be in a two front war when they invaded the Soviet Union, and would most likely have won the war with them. Resulting in Germany controlling most of Europe.

What battle did russian forces successfully hold off germans?

That would be the battle for Stalingrad .

How did the Battle of Britain impact the German strateagy?

Well if Britain had lost the Battle of Britain it would have made the forthcoming invasion of the UK 'operation sea lion' a goer. It's unlikely Britain could have defeated the Germans on the ground so they would have been conquered like France and Belgium etc.. the German army could then have concentrated on the Eastern front to defeat Russia and so on... so it can be argued that because the British kept the Germans occupied on the Western Front (and North Africa etc...) and split their forces which could have been deployed elsewhere, the war would have been lost otherwise

How is the battle of verdun linked to the battle of somme?

Russia's siege that ended the war in Europe

Why was the Battle of the Atlantic important to the war effort?

The Battle of the Atlantic was very important to both Britain and Germany because Britain needed to control the seas between itself ant the United States to be able to receive supplies from them. Would world war 2 be different if the battle of the Moscow didn't happen?

Not really. The Germans abandoned their attempt to get Moscow to go after Kiev and Stalingrad and the oil wells in the Crimea.

The Battle of Britain was .?

The Battle of Britain happened between July 10, 1940 and October 31, 1940. It was a critical event in WW2 which stalled the German advance and conquest/invasion of Britain. It was fought in the air and was a battle for air supremacy to pave the way for the German invasion as, without having the sky cleared of British planes, the Germans could not successfully move troops onto British soil because the RAF would bomb them as they tried to land. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The summer of 1940, with the culmination around September 15th. The RCAF also started to do "intruder missions" near the German airfields in France. These were night fighters who would attack the Germans as they were trying to land at their own Lufftwaffe bases, at the end of a night flight. By the middle of September, 1941, the Germans had decided it was too late in the year to launch a invasion, so they reduced their air raids to a minimum. The Battle Of Britain was significant as it was the first WW2 battle that was entirely fought in the sky.
