What would happen to jobs they stopped making cigarettes?

• The government doesn't really care about cigarette smokers as they lead society to believe because selling cigarettes brings in high revenue for the government. They are now relying on drug companies to use different types of aids to help a smoker quit, but often the smoker who relies on nicotine gum or patches finds themselves unable to stop at least chewing the gum and some are addicted to the gum. There is no follow up on why some people can quit smoking fairly easily while others cannot and it is apparent in the stress of every day living there will be smoking just as there is alcohol abuse; Marijuana; street drugs and over-eating. Other medications used are not properly tested and the side effects can be worse than the habit of smoking cigarettes. If smoking was banned (so they say) less people would die and the government would be pressured even more regarding health care. Good questions to ask is why the government forces the cigarette companies to spend millions upon millions of dollars every so often to put different pictures of risk factors on the cigarette packages instead of taking that money from the tobacco company and hopefully finding a way to help smokers truly quit in a safe manner. Smoking is as addictive as heroine, yet in British Columbia, Canada heroine addicts have the government pay for 'shooting up' in a safe environment, yet nothing is done about the smoker. There are approximately 5.5 trillion cigarettes produced globally each year and are smoked by over 1.1 billion people. If tobacco companies closed down there would be great job loses, but also, your government would not get the revenue and that would be a big hit on them.
