need a front end alignment or thebearings may be going bad or even bad tires I would say though you need a front end alignment
Poor tire alignment will cause wearing on the inside edges of rear and even front tires.
You "CAN" but even old tires that look good can cause all sorts of trouble that feel like alignment problems. The alignment shop is going to recomend changing them.
Had this same problem for two months. Ended up being the alignment. If you can feel it in the steering wheel the problem is probably up front. If you can feel it in the seat then it's probably in back. Cost me $90 for front and rear alignment combined. Look at the interior wall of your tires, check for uneven wear. Changing the tires alone won't fix it; you'll just destroy your new tires.
miss alignment of tires
The toe is adjusted when you go get an front end alignment. An alignment is recommened for even wear of your tires and for your suspension. You can call Pep Boys, or Sears Auto, Goodyear, etc. for a qoute for your car.
Every car needs an alignment at some point. Even more so if the car pulls to the right or left, or if the tires are worn on the edges. So to answer the question, yes.
"Scalloping" is usually caused by bad struts. But, could also be from inproper alignment, lack of tire rotations (matinence, not motion), or even poor quality tires. I've known many people with Toyo tires that have this problem.
Depends on when you had your last alignment and the condition of the tires you removed. It they were wearing perfectly even then you may not need an alignment. If you have not had an alignment in the last 36,000 miles you may very well need one. Judgment call on your part based on the evidence.
new tires does not mean you don't need alignment. it is always a good idea to have the vehicle aligned after new tires are purchased to avoid premature wear, even if the car shows no sign of mis-alignment.
Assuming the alignment shop was competent, the rear suspension may have problems. Without both front and rear suspensions mechanically sound, the car will wander. The 'outside chance' possibility is that you have bad tires.
If everything was fine prior to the new tires and If the tires were balanced correctly then you have at least 1 defective tire rotate the tires to identify where the culpret is.
