The February Revolution of 1917 in Russia put an end to the rule of the Tsars but it did not establish a communist government. The communist government was not established until later that year in the October Revolution.
1922 - 1991
In 1949 Mao Zedong converted China to communism.
Mao Zedong was Chairman of The Communist Party of China (CPC) between 1943-1976.
Lenin and the Bolshevik Party gained control in Russia after the October Revolution in 1917. This revolution led to the overthrow of the Provisional Government, which had been established following the February Revolution earlier that year. By the end of 1917, Lenin's party had consolidated power, establishing a communist government that would later become the foundation of the Soviet Union.
For centuries they had a monarchy and then a communist government for the last 90 years. Until the 1980's when they became a semi democracy. I was there last year and all the communist symbols are still up and on buildings my personal opinion is that they are still communist.
1981 was the year in which a non-communist trade union, known as the Solidarity movement challenged the iron-fisted Communist bureaucracy. The movement was led by Lech Walesa, and resulted in strikes in the port of Gdansk, Poland, and the communist backlash, when the government declared martial law. Mongolia was first known as Outer Mongolia. Mongolia won its independence in 1921 and installed a Communist regime in 1924. Mongolia's capital city is Ulaanbaatar and the country has a growth rate of 1.469 percent per year.
