No, uses R134a.

Where can you purchase R12 Freon for older cars?

The simple way is to remove the R12 and install R134A. by a kit with that will have a hose, R134A with oil. The new oil may plug your leaks. or go to Mexico and cross the border and buy R12 in 12 oz cans The border guards may take your R12 cans when you come into USA. or Drive your car into Mexico and have them fill your system with R12.

Where do you top up air con fluid on a Toyota starlet?

You charge your vehicle ac system through the low side port on your ac system. If you need more information about adding refrigerant to your vehicle, or retrofitting a car from R12 TO R134A you can go to www.idqusa.com.

Where do you charge the ac on a 2355 john deere?

You didn't specify a model year. 1995 and newer will certainly use R134a. 1993 and 1994 could go either way... if the schrader valves have threads on the outside, it's an R12 system; if they use a quick connect, it's an R134a system. Anything earlier will use R12 unless it's been retrofitted. Find your AC compressor. There are two refrigerant lines going to it -one is smaller than the other. Follow the larger line back, and you'll run into the valve. They're typically covered with a black plastic cap.

What kind of freon in a 1992 ford?

Was built for R12, should be converted to R134a

What Freon is used for 89 Honda CRX?

anything 94 and below is going to be r12, unless someone has put a retrofit kit on there then it could be r134a. some people have been know to put other dangerous things in there freon. r12 freon is really expensive. the best thing to do is go to local auto parts store and buy a r12 to r134a retrofit kit and have the system retrofitted

How much freon is needed in a 1992 sunbird?

First are you sure it uses R12 or has it been switched to R134A. If it still uses R12 where are you going to get it ...it's about Thirtydollars/lb. if you are licensed to buy it....ie you are certified or get certified on line at http://www.macsw.org/certification.php and then buy it ....or go to Mexico and buy it for six dollars/can of 12 oz. Or if you want switch to R134A or if it is already R134A then crank up the engine ...close the windows connect the R134A or the R12 (CFC-12) put a digital thermometer in the ac vent in the center of the car turn on the ac and watch the temperature form outside the car. If it's about 60 F or higher start adding gas slowly and watch the temp... when it gets as low as it will go some cars 50 some cars 55 some 40 aome 45 stop adding gas....your done....have fun! and stay cool Don if this helps send me a dollar 432 Hidden Ridge Rd ...Cville Va 22902

What kind of freon does a 1993 Geo Prizm need?

R134a is all that is available If you have an R12 system You have to retrofit to R134a I didn't go through the hassle of changing the entire system to r134a I just recharged the system with the new freon and it's working just fine. The coolant even last longer.

Does the 1993 Buick Skylark come factory installed with R-12 or R-134A and if R-12 how hard is the conversion?

1992 was the first year for 134a. To be sure on your car there should be a sticker underneath the hood on the top/front of the engine compartment stating the freon type. Another easy way, check the A/C pressure connectors is in the engine compartment. R12 connectors are screw on connectors. R134a connectores have screw on caps, but the actual hose connectors under the caps are snap on (the cap screws into the center of the connectors, not the outside). Your local autoparts store will have R134a refill kits, look at the connector on the can. Autozone employees will go outside and look under your hood and tell you. If you are changing the compressor and dryer, then refilling the compressor with R134a oil and using R134a is easy, for a trained professional, and the seals will be fine. NOTE : It is illegal for anyone to purposefully vent R12 into the atmosphere. If the compressor hasn't failed and you are needing to simply add a small amount of R12 to get the system working again you should consider searching online for Freeze12 or other R12 substitutes and top it off with an organic replacement for R12, as you can not drain the R12 system without a refrigerant recovery system, which start at $500. You can not mix R12 and R134a. A complete system failure is guaranteed if you try.

How do you charge the AC on a 1991 Ford F-150?

Go to autozone and get a manifold vacuum ac gauge for R134a. Ofcoarse, also pick up a can of R134a. Hook up the gauges to the valves on the AC hoses. Add the refrigerant but watch the pressure on the gauge!! Any good manual will tell you the max pressure for the system.

Is it hard to convert R12 to 134a?

If your looking to change from R12 to R134a why not purchase a refill kit from Red Tek which will refill either type of system. It is an EcoSafe Non-Ozone Depleating alternative to Freon. I've used the product and it works well. Go to http://www.redtek.com/ for more details.
