For some ODD REASON chevy changed the style of the bell housing in 1996 and 1997. The difference is the transmission support bars that run from the engine mounts to the transmission. The 96 and 97 transmissions don't have a dust cover that can be removed.
For everything to bolt RIGHT UP CORRECTLY YOU MUST PUT A 1996 OR 1997 Year transmission back in it.
The 3/4 tons used the 4L80E transmission in them and the 1/2 tons used the 4L60E in them.
NO. 2 and 4 wheel drive transmissions are DIFFERENT. They will NOT interchange.
yes all Chevy six lug wheels will interchange
No it will not. The only transmission that will WORK in the 96 IS A 1996 MODEL. NO other years will interchange.
NO, The 1996 must have the 96 model 4L60E PUT BACK IN IT.
Well if the 1996 350 is in a 1996 year truck then it must have a 1996 or 1997 4L60E transmission put in it if it is a 1/2 ton. The 3/4 tons must have the 1996 or 1997 4L80E transmission put in it. NO OTHER YEAR transmissions will interchange with the 96 and 97 models.
No thay will not. Car and truck wheels will not interchange.
NO. The bell housing is DIFFERENT. The 1996 and 1997 4L60E / 4L80E transmissions will not interchange with anything else.
These are the years that will interchange with yours. 1992 to 1995 Then it jumps to 1997 to 1999. 1996 will not work. If your truck is a 1/2 ton then it must have the 4L60E transmission put in it. If it is a 3/4 ton then it must have the 4L80E put in it. Good luck.
NO it will not interchange. Even thow they are both 4L60E transmissions the bell housings have a different design. Won't work.
Yes because its the SAME YEAR truck
If it a Ram series truck they will interchange. If it is a Dakota, it will not interchange between those years.
NO. The length of the center shaft on the 4x4 transmissions are longer then the 2-wheel drives so the transfur case will bolt up to it. will not interchange.
