1066 AD I believe, Edward the Confessor, Harold Godwinson , and William the Conqueror. Also in 1483 - when the house of york was restored after the wars of the roses there were three kings; Edward IV, Edward V and Richard III. It then happened again in 1936, George V died, Edward VIII took over, but then abdicated to marry an American woman not approved of by his family and so his younger brother George VIII took the throne.

There were two instances of England's year of three kings. They were 1066 and 1936. In 1066, Harold Godwinson succeeded Edward the Confessor as King of England, but was ousted by William the Conqueror. In 1936 Edward VIII succeeded his father, George V, as King, but abdicated in favor of his brother, George VI.
