The Elite LED-based LCD from Sharp was designed in homage to the vaunted Kuro Elite plasmas from Pioneer, and both models are the only TVs to earn a "10" in picture quality. As usual, it's all about black levels; the Pro-X5FD's are even deeper than the Kuro's, don't suffer noticeable blooming, and maintain excellent fidelity from off-angle. If money is no object, this is the best TV you can buy.
Plasma and HDTV are not comparable since Plasma is a type of screen and HDTV is a type of video. Meaning that a Plasma TV can run HDTV on it, so there is no need to compare the two.
There is only Plasma in Plasma HDTV's. Not all HDTV's. It is part of the technology that creates your picture. Like a tube in an older television.
Panasonic is best. If it's a Plasma HDTV you want....well Panasonic is your best bet. Panasonic is a world leader in Plasma technology in it's HDTV's. Samsung produce great LCD HDTV's but in my opinion these have yet to rival the picture quality of Plasma's. After months of viewing HDTV's I have just purchased the latest state of the art Panasonic Plasma model TH-PY800.
There are many places where one can buy a 1080p HDTV plasma TV. One looking to purchase a 1080p HDTV Plasma TV should visit popular stores such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart.
The Viera-TH-46PZ850U-46 Plasma TV is HDTV compatible.
The Samsung hdtv and the Sony hdtv are among the top quality televisions in the hdtv sector. The only difference between these televisions are the features they offer.
You want to look for "LED" when searching for a good plasma HDTV because it helps save energy. The downside of a plasma tv is the constant glare on the screen.
LCD tv by far!
The LCD offers a more clearer contract rather then a plasma since the plasma has more a of smear look with the HDTV that is added to the TV, however they are both are pretty compareable when it comes to the HDTV added to the TV.
Plasma televisions come in much larger sizes than a HDTV television. They also have better contrast. Plasma screens are four to five times brighter. Plasma screens take up less space because they can be hung on a wall like a picture.
Plasma TVs have excellent contrast and can produce deeper blacks than LCD TVs. Additionally, plasma TVs display more natural colors. They also have a wider viewing angle than LCD TVs.
Although most newer Plasma Televisions are HDTVs, many older Plasma sets are not. In order for a TV to be classified as an HDTV, or HDTV-ready, the television must be able to display at least 1280x720 pixels. Some of those "budget" Plasma televisions priced at $1,000 or less, that are "selling like hotcakes" only display 852x480 or 1024x768 pixels. The images on these sets look great, especially for DVDs and standard digital cable, but it is not true HDTV. Although if you have a typical HDTV input format of 1080i needs a native display of 1920x1080 pixels for a one-to-one point display of the HDTV image. So HD capability is not limited to 1280x720. Capability is from that range and higher to insure the purest quality of HD.
