Queen Elizabeth I
because she had a valid claim to the English throne and was married to someone who also had a valid claim to the English throne because the Pope told the Catholic people of England not to recognize Elizabeth as Queen of England She was actually plotting to take over the throne of England
Elizabeth II is Queen of the United Kingdom, so by extension, is the Queen of England.
Queens, like kings were expected to marry so that they can have children who will become the next king or queen. Queen Elizabeth I never married and never had any children which led to the throne being offered to King James VI of Scotland, when Elizabeth I died, he then became King James I of England.
The Queen of England in 1599 was Queen Elizabeth I of England, the fifth and final monarch (with the exception of Lady Jane Grey), of the Tudor Dynasty.Elizabeth ascended to the throne on November 17, 1558, upon the death of Mary I, and was succeeded by the first Stuart monarch, James I of England (James VI of Scotland).
she stabilised the main religion in England at that time (changing it from catholic to protestant.) she also encouraged the work of Shakespeare and sent explorers like Walter Raleigh to America.
The King of England would be the head of the British Royal Family. However, England has a Queen. This is because Queen Elizabeth II took over the throne after her father's death. When she married Prince Philip, he could not assume a title which would be higher than Queen Elizabeth's, hence he remains a prince and has also been given the title "Duke of Edinburgh", but cannot be given the title "King" or "King Consort" like other men throughout history is various royal families.
she is important because she like the president
There has not been a Queen (or King) of England since 1707. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is Queen of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. And she is the official Queen of many commonwealth countries like Canada, Australia and new Zealand. Queen Elizabeth II was born on 21st April 1926, and as of 2013, she is 87 years old. As for how long there will be a monarchy - who knows? There is no conceivable prospect of The United Kingdom ever abolishing the monarchy. At the very moment of the Queen's death the throne passes automatically to the heir, currently the Queen's oldest son, His Royal Highness Prince Charles. On his death the throne passes on to the next in line, currently His Royal Highness Prince William, son of Prince Charles and Grandson of the Queen. In the unlikely event that these heirs were removed (say, with a terrorist bomb) then another descendant of the Queen would assume power. The likes of precedence (the order of who is next in line to the throne) is a complex system, but it ensures that there is always a king or queen in waiting on the death of a monarch.
because she, and the catholics of England and Spain believed that Elizabeth was an illegitimate queen. they wanted a catholic queen and because Elizabeth was protestant, the easiest way to have a catholic country was to kill Elizabeth and make Mary queen.
They never met, but as Mary was the first cousin once removed of Elizabeth, she posed a threat to Elizabeth's right to the English throne. Mary was also Catholic while Elizabeth was the leader of the Protestant Church of England. Of course there was no problem when Elizabeth died, Mary was already dead but her son was offered the throne as he was Protestant.
