The worst tropical cyclone (generic term for hurricane, typhoon etc.) ever recorded was the Bhola Cyclone, which struck portions of Bangladesh (then called East Pakistan) and India in November of 1970. The stork milled at least 300,000 people, and possibly as many as 500,000.
