When changing the 02 sensors and the spark plugs on a 1998 Nissan Maxima why would the service engine soon light still come on?

Have the service engine soon (check engine), same thing light scanned to know exactly what is the problem. You may purchase a cheap scan tool at some car shops like Canadian tire and scan the code yourself. Obviously make sure to change the defective parts with good parts and cancel the code afterwards.
