Never, Germany and Italy were allies.Michael Montagne
Whoops! Never mind, I misread your question. I thought you were asking about World War *Two* since this section is dedicated to that war. In the first war Germany never invaded Italy either although they were enemies. Italy declared war on Austria-Hungary on May 23 1915 and attacked. They gained some initial successes but the Austrians regained most of the lost territory and then the war became a stalemate just like everywhere else. Italy declared war on Germany on August 28, 1915 but as near as I can tell their forces never actually met. Italy only fought Austria.Michael Montagne
Italy was originally with the Central Powers (Austria-Hungary, Germany, and the Ottoman Empire which is now Turkey) but later joined the Allied Powers (mainly the U.S., Britain, France, and Russia). Germany never invaded Italy though, not successfuly at least. For most of the war, Germany was on the defensive. Its main oppressors were France (on the Eastern border) and Russia (on the western).

Italy never invaded Czechoslovakia. Germany, an ally of Italy at the time, invaded Czechoslovakia in 1938.
Caesar crossed the Rubicon and invaded Italy in 49 BC.
The year that the Russian defeated the Germans was the year 1945.
No, you have it backwards. In May 1943, the last remaining Italian troops surrendered to the Allies, marking the end of the North African Campaign. The Allies would go on to invade Sicily, and then Italy later that year.
In 1943 the Allies mounted attacks on Sicily and Italy to drive the Germans back.
Italy has had a very weak start and probably will not win the world cup this year.
