King George II of Great Britain, King of Great Britain and
Ireland, the last monarch of the country to have been born outside
Great Britain, became King of England on June 11, 1727, upon the
death of his predecessor, Georg Ludwig, who was to become King
George I, and reign immediately prior to George II.
George II remained King until his death, on October 25, 1760, having died of a ruptured aneurysm of the aorta while on the toilet.
