On October 24th, Sandy became a hurricane, crossed Jamaica and strengthened into a Category 2 hurricane. The next day, she hit Cuba as a Category 3 hurricane and weakened into a Category 1 hurricane. Early on October 26, she moved through the Bahamas. On October 27, she weakened to a tropical storm and then re-strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane. Early on October 29th, she made landfall close to Brigantine, New Jersey as a post-tropical cyclone with hurricane-force winds.
