Aurora Trout started disappearing in 1960s when acid rain and other pollution disrupted its ability to reproduce. In 1990s the Aurora Trout's were then introduced to ten lakes, eight failing. Two lakes are still full of Aurora Trout's, 'Whitepine and Whirligig lake'. In North-eastern Ontario.

Because of too much fishing! The Aurora Trout is a often used food source... this causes it to die quicker.. also when the females that didn't or were about to lay eggs get caught too, so, we probably know that less eggs are produced! The wrong food that they eat can also cause problems(maybe :3)

The aurora trout is a subspecies of the brook trout, found in a very few lakes in Canada. It is different from other brook trout in that it has no spots on the back and flanks.

Fishing had nothing to do with the decline of this fish, rather pollution from acid rain caused the decline. Refugia populations have been set up to enable scientists to stock this trout in other environments.
