The precise date of the beginning of the universe is unknown, however we do know how the world started... or at least we have a theory that there was a gas ball in 'outer space' that continued to rotate until it imploded on itself and created the sun (the middle and warmest spot) and the four terrestrial planets, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Earth from the collision of asteroids. In addition, the four gaseous planets were formed (Neptune, Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter) were created from the gasses left over from the Helium and Hydrogen (predominately) ball.
