Most people say to stop breeding around not that is bad but most female hamsters become sterile around a year to 14 months but my hamster is a year old and she and her sister both still go into heat. I love them and one has had babies already and im thinking about now so ill tell u what happens good luck hope this helps;)

∙ 8y agoWhen the female and male hamster are AT LEAST 3 - 4 MONTHS OLD or the mama will have poor babies and the babies might be disfomed when the mama is in heat usually every 4 days ( tip: never just put the mama hammy and soon to be papa hammy to together let them get to know each other if they are Syrians but if they are dwarfs then do the same but when the Syrian hamster(female or male show signs of lossing interest then immediately separate them or it may lead in to a fight but when in mating the female should freeze and have her tale up and the male should do what a male would do and the male would clean himself several times, but NEVER EVER breed with out know what to do and NEVER touch the babies and NEVER interfere in the beeding please,
