Best Answer

The 64 bit operating system makes everything written for it more "efficient" which translates to faster so it really does have a noticeable affect on the Pro applications that deal with editing software like, video, sound, Photoshop type applications, etc. The normal consumer may not notice it for everyday use. It also enables the use of a larger amounts of ram capacity.

In Windows it also enables the use of more then 3 or 4 gigs of ram.

Why java is a plat form indepedent language?

Java is called plat form independent language because when java code compile in any operating system (like Windows) by Javac ,then a .class file is created. then if u copy this this .class file and run into any other operating system (like Linux) , the JVM of this OS can execute this file and give us the output of that code. that's why java is called a plat form independent language. rajkumar.nsec@gmail.com

What is the cost of upgrading your operating system form OS9 to OS X?

$29.00 US was what Apple used to sell OS Upgrades for. Depending on how old your computer is you may not be able to at all. If you can boot into os 9 then you can't go beyond 10.5. MacOS 10.5 is the last OS a non Intel computer can use. You can skip all the way to 10.5 if your computer supports it. You don't have to buy every single one. OS-10.6 and above is for the newer Intel processors only. Apple no longer supports 10.5 and older so you are going to have a hard time finding an upgrade that your computer can run. If you can find an online store that still sells upgrades then Apple still has the updates for them on their support site.
