Studies of genetics in India shows widespread population mixture took place between 4,200 to 1,900 years ago (2200 BCE-100 CE), where-after a shift to endogamy took place and admixture became rare. That said, children belong to the same caste and subset as their parents. If there is a mixture, then one or the other is chosen. Some people have managed to adopt a different caste by moving to a different area of the country and adopting the mannerisms and language of that caste.
The caste of the child's parents. The two parents would have been of the same caste since marrying outside of caste was considered unacceptable. Although I write this in the past tense, it is still widely prevalent.
Sarma caste is commonly used by the andhra people. It is lower caste and goverment have alloted caste certificate to those peoples who belongs to this caste . It has no relation with the reputed caste all over india name "SHARMA". It is like that if you go to market for buying Reebok shoes, may be you will get some shoes for rs 300-400 printed Reeboke or Rebok . So Beware of pirated shoes and pirates caste also sarma is surname for brahmins who are upper caste in ap & india sarma is used in south india like sharma in north india so pl delete your comparision with shoes which is derogatary
The caste system used to go by what career you aspired, but now it changed to be a bit racist. Hinduism does not justify the caste system, and caste system is now illegal in india. It is more of a social/cultural thing than a religious custom.
In India, there is something called the caste system. The priest is at the very top of the system, then comes the warriors, land owners and rulers. Succeeding them are the merchants, then the artisans and the agriculturalists, and last of all the "Untouchables". The caste system is devised in such away that a person born in the lower categories will never be able to work his way into being in a higher category. The "Untouchables" are uneducated - never going to school. Therefore a child born in the "Untouchable" category will never go to school or achieve any social merit.
=all i know is the lowest caste was the "untouchables" which meant if even their shadow touch someone in a higher classes shadow the person in the higher class would have to go home and burn their cloths=
