Most likely the zombie apocalypse start with a virus...possibly weaponized...and the strain will mutate quickly, making it impossible to combat (with the exception of a shot to the head).

If there was a zombie apocalypse in one week, I would have a lot of water and non-perishable food. Then I would probably flee from the city to avoid the zombies, and then stay in an abandoned house or something. I would keep away from the highways, as there would be a lot of traffic jams, and most likely be a temporary safe house. If I had to fight off zombies, I would use a katana, because they're so sharp, they can cut through almost anything.
