you need to check the 120amp fuse in the engine fuse box, it may be green. it is a bigger square fuse, it bolts in to the fuse box. im a Toyota tech, and we see it all the time.
More than likely you have corrosion at the terminals. Clean the battery terminals and then recharge the battery and see what happens.
this sounds too simple to be asked. Or do you mean doing something else to the battery? if you can see the battery just disconnect the terminals using a spanner and replace the battery with one of similar voltage.

Wear safety goggles and disconnect battery terminals from battery. Remove serpentine belt, then remove all electric connectors and bolts securing alternator. Replace with new part and re-install all electric connectors and bolts securing it. Re-connect battery terminals and your done.

Heavy corrosion will prevent enough power from getting to the starter to spin fast enough to start the engine.
You can take it to Autozone and have them read the code, tell you and then reset it. You can also take off your battery terminals for a couple minutes then re-attach them.
There isn't a fuel shut off switch on this model. There is a main relay which runs from the vehicles computer this can be reset by unplugging the battery terminals.
Did you put power to the right terminals on the distributor? (one from battery,one from ignition) Did you run a ground strap to the engine? Good luck.
