When my 1998 2.7 v6 Dodge intrepid starts on a cold day it makes a loud noise. We Don't know why. The Mechanic says its normal but my friends Intrepid doesn't do that. Is that normal?

This can be a number of problems. There are so many things that can be wrong when a car doesnt start. Here are the most common on a Intrepid. 1. Dead Battery 2. Wiring is Shot 3. Ignition Switch 4. Relay Module is not putting out the right voltage 5. Bad Starter 6. Bad Spark Plugs I have a 1993 Dodge Intrepid and right now it's having the same problem. It starts every now and then but i was told it's the Ignition Switch. Give those 6 a look and report back.
