You cannot count your "safe days" from the time when you last got your period, you need to count from when your next period is due. Of course the following rhythm method is not 100% safe as most women are not regular on their periods. You ovulate 14 days before you period comes. Therefore work out when your period is next due and count back two weeks. This is the day the egg is released, and this day is unsafe. Sperm can live in your body for up to three days, so the three days before ovulation are unsafe. The egg lives for 24 hours, so the day after ovulation is unsafe too. So all up you should have five days that you are unsafe. Now, if I was you, I would take into account how irregular you are in your periods. Maybe give yourself a couple more days either end of these five days if you are uncertain. Hello. This is what worries me regarding "safe days" and not "safe days" to have unprotected sex, because a lot of people who do not want a baby, rely on the safe days and conceive a baby. You can become pregnant ANY TIME throughout your cycle. The only difference is that during your ovulation time, you are at high risk of pregnancy because the egg is waiting to be fertilised by a sperm. So the best thing you can do is ALWAYS use a condom when having sex if you dont want a baby. Good luck and take care.

If by safe and unsafe days you are talking about when you can have sex without getting pregnant, the answer is simple; when using Birth Control.

Guessing your fertile days based on past cycles is known as Rhymth Method, it is highly unreliable as a means of birth control because cycles change...so you could have sex on day 17 of your cycle thinking it's past ovulation so there's no risk, only for that cycle to be longer than normal so ovulation is later than usual. A few days difference can be the difference between no risk and high risk. Unless a woman uses a method like fertility awareness method she cannot know for sure when she is fertile or not.

Is your body back to normal if you have regular periods after being on the injection?

Yes, if you have not received an injection in 6 months or more and you did not have regular periods while taking the injection. The depo-provera shot suppresses ovulation. Once you begin having regular periods again, then your body should have returned to normal. However, many women still have periods, even when on this type of birth control, so after being off of the injection for several months and once you begin regular periods again, you need to check for ovulation using an ovulation predictor kit, just to make sure. However, realize that it may take as long as 18 months after the last depo-provera shot for periods to return to normal.

When you only have your period every four months because of birth control do you still ovulate every month?

No, the point of birth control is so that your body will not ovulate so that you will not get pregnant. Your period is withdrawal bleeding, which is not the same as regular periods.
