How do you change the front brake rotor 1991 eclipse?

How to replace front rotor replacement on 2004 f250 super duty 4x4?

Jack up the F250's front end. Remove the wheel. Remove the locking assembly, this will be different depending on which assembly is used (skip this step it the F250 has the slide on type rotor.) Unbolt the brake caliper and swivel it out of the way. The rotor was either unbolted during the locking hub removal, or it is the slide on type that will now just pull off.

How do you install rotor in 1997 Chevy silverado four wheel drive 3500 series?

They didn't make this one very easy to replace. Start with jacking up the front end and let it down on jack stands under the lower control arms, then remove the wheel, brake caliper, axle nut, disconnect abs speed sensor harness, remove the bolts holding the hub assembly to the knuckle and remove the hub assembly with rotor attached. Once you have the hub assembly off you can drive out the wheel studs and remove the rotor.

Why is your rotor rubbing against the caliper?

Worn wheel bearing or hub assembly. Jack the car up so that the wheel is off the ground. Put one hand on top of the tire and one hand on the bottom. Try to rock the wheel by pulling/pushing. If the wheel moves in and out or rocks the bearings are bad. Since the rotor sits on the hub assembly which isn't supposed to rock back and forth it is able to clear the caliper bracket. On a worn hub the rotor is able to move slightly causing the rotor to rub against the caliper bracket.

How do you remove the rear brake rotors from 1999 F 250 4 wheel drive truck?

you need toremaove the brake caliper then the caliper mounting bracket and the rotor should slide off...sometimes they rust fast to the hub assembly, if this happens jut spray it up real good with penetrating oil and tap it with a hammer lightly to free the rotor from the hub assembly...

How do you remove the brake rotors on a 1998 Chevrolet suburban 3-4 ton?

Assuming you have already removed the brake calipers and tied them up out of the way, Next Remove the center nut off the half shaft and take a punch and tap the axle shaft inward to loosen from hub/bearing assembly then remove the four bolts on the back side of the steering knuckle that are attached to the wheel bearing. Once you have pulled those bolts you will need to locate the ABS wire which should be coming from the top of the hub assembly and follow it up to where the wire can be disconnected at the plug. Unplug ABS wire from and remove the bolts and clips. The ABS wire will need to be completely unattached from the chassis. Now you can start to remove the Rotor and Hub/Assembly by sticking a bar int he cooling grooves of the rotor and tapping the on the backside with a hammer the whole rotor and hub assembly should come loose and slide off over the end of the axle half shaft. Once you have removed the entire assembly next take two wood 2x4 and set them under the rotor so that the lug/wheel studs can be driven out freely. Take a punch or two ball peen hammers and drive the wheel studs from the bearing and rotor assembly. If using two ball hammers place the round end of one on the studs and hammer on the flat surface with the other. I found this worked much better than using the punch. Turn the assembly over and tap the hub assembly from the rotor there are cutouts in the rotor that need to align with the hub Assembly for complete removal. Place the new rotor on put the wood 2x4 under to allow the wheel studs to be reinstalled. These will need to hammer back into the new rotor and hub assembly. Reassemble in reverse order. Make sure to keep the seal clean of rust and dirt at steering knuckle where the half comes through wipe and apply fresh grease with a rag or finger. Make sure the half shaft is greased as reassembly will be easier. Good Luck!!

What is a blade from a helicopter?

How do you remove the rotor form a 1989 323 Mazda?

I assume you mean the rotor for the distributor. It is held in place with a small Phillips head screw. Take of the distributor cap (held in place with two Phillips head screws). Turn the engine over until the contact portion of the rotor is pointing down. Unscrew the machine screw from the rotor arem and pull the rotor off the distributor shaft. If you are refering to the brake rotor, you will need to jack the car up and support it on jack stands. Remove the road wheel & tire. Have someone step on the brake pedal, and undo the nut holding the half-shaft to the hub assembly. Remove the two bolts holding the brake caliper to the strut. Remove the cotter pin and undo the nut of the tie rod from the hub assembly; uncouple the tie rod end from the steering arm of the hub assembly. Undo the bottom pinch bolt (holds the axle carrier to the lower ball joint). Remove the top two bolts of the axle carrier/brake rotor assembly. You can now take the axle carrier/brake rotor assenbly off the car. Working on the bench, bend back the loaking tabs for the rotor retaining bolts, then remove the retaining bolts. You should now be able to remove the brake rotor from the hub. Note if you have committed to replacing your brake rotors, you will probably want to repalce you hub bearinsg and seals while you have these assemblies off the car. Also be sure to inspect your lower ball joints and brake pads and replace if worn. CheersMalcolm

How do I get the front rotor off of an 2006 Chevy Silverado?

Loosen lug nuts. Jack up vehicle, support on jack stand. Remove wheel. I like to spray down the entire brake assembly with brake cleaner first, have a catch bucket underneath. Remove caliper body. Remove rotor. Installation is the reverse of removal. You may have to remove the brake pads in order to depress the caliper piston to get the caliper back over the new rotor (depending on how worn your old rotor is)
