Try turning the pump off before switching to SPA and then turning the pump back on. Many pumps when turned on/off create enough pressure to break the seal on orings and cause a short burst of water from the seal. This can also damage the rings on sand filters when the pump is not turned off prior to switching from filter to backwash/recirculate/waste. Summary: always turn the pump off before changing the direction of waterflow.
And there could also be another valve to open or close to accomplish the task.

Yes, replace filters as needed. Brand new in-line filter still can cause flow restriction.
All oil filters have a pressure bypass valve if it doesnt open it will cause the spike.. change your oil and filter and get back to me
old rubber gasket stuck to block or to much oil pressure regulated by spring above oil filter Filter not tight, hole in filter,....
Incorrect fuel pressure. Plugged fuel filter.
The gas is probably not leaking into the filter but the engine. It's caused by a broken diaphragm on the fuel pressure regulator. Replace regulator
Are you saying switching? If so, the answer is no. Switching batteries will not cause it to stall as long as you install a fully charged battery.
Could be a very dirty fuel filter or incorrect fuel pressure.
No, this is impossible. However it could cause oil to spray out through the dipstick tube.
A plugged up fuel filter, a faulty fuel pressure regulator or a faulty fuel pump.
It could but not likely. Do a fuel pressure test and be sure to replace the fuel filter. If you have low or no fuel pressure I would suspect the fuel pump is at fault.
Try a new fuel filter. Back pressure of a plugging filter can cause it, it doesn't take much sometimes. I had a silverado doing that . Ed
Blocked fuel filter or failing fuel pump. Autozone will test fuel line pressure for free. If fuel line pressure is low, replace filter first.
