You may use it when towing.
auto or stick shift
Look at the gear stick, if its auto then you have an auto transmission, if its manual you have a manual transmission.
Auto or stick? Stick, it's probably a problem with the clutch or pilot bushing/bearing. Auto, it's probably a problem with the linkage.
Ford any model stick shift or auto that can be moved out of gear
Underneath the front cover in front of the transmission. It is part of the gear selector switch. It switches off of the shifter drum.
linkage is sticking
change the neutral safety switch.
yes you have to change gear in any vehical that is a stick. you can change it to 1st gear or neutral. but on the other hand with a automatic their is no need to change gear they put a auto clutch system in vehicals like that.
The gear stick has a diagram of where to move the stick to engage a certain gear. For example, if Gear 1 is in the top left corner, you must move the stick to the fair left, then forwards to engage first gear. Oh, and you have to push down the clutch each time you change gear.
on the wheel i own the 4L model xj6 sport (1997) and its below the auto gear stick
Maybe brake shift cable from brake to gear shifter?
