They did. It hasn't been made in years. Femco was the manufacturer.
You cannot download it (as far as I know) but you can purchase the manual (SM 2038) from John Deere ($150) or the CD ($75). Call 800-522-7448 I would recommend the CD (PDF) as you can zoom and print what you want. Good Luck!

Just bought a belt for my LX 186 and had them copy the service manual page for the belt and related pulleys and parts. It shows the root very clearly.
Try replacing the spark plugs, to narrow down which cylinder is not working just remove plug wires one at a timeand see which one makes no difference.
Take the tire size into your local tire shop and they can get the tire and mount it for you. You can also go to a retail store, like Wal-mart and purchase the tire there. They should be able to get the size if it isn't in stock.

A 97 lx doesn't have a starter relay. The relay is built into the solenoid of the starter motor itself. It uses light voltage to transfer the power from the main cable to the starter motor itself.
all cars built after 1991 are required to have a emergancy fuel shutoff.
