There is no defining moment when the UK became a constitutional monarchy. Queen Victoria often expressed political views and preferences, which would be unthinkable now. The start of the Georgian period in 1714, brought about many changes to the way Great Britain was governed, with the King having less say, indeed the Georgian Kings were known for their indifference to the governance of Britain. King Edward VII (1902-10) is often said to be the first constitutional monarch as he played NO part in politics.
