According to The Bible, the earth was created 'in the beginning', no specific time period indicated (Genesis 1:1). The creation of the Garden of Eden, and life on earth, began much more recently, believed by many to be around 4,026 BCE, in southwestern part of what is now called Asia (Turkey), around the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers.(Genesis 2:7-15) Scripturally, Eden is referred to in other books of the Bible (Ezekiel 28:13)(Isaiah 51:3)(Joel 2:3)(Ezekiel 36:35), and according to Bible chronology, would have been created a little over 6000 years ago.
Leon R. Kass (The Beginning of Wisdom: Reading Genesis) says that the Garden of Eden is a purely mythic place - a mere Utopia. Although theologians like James Ussher can calculate exactly when the world was created, and therefore when the Garden of Eden existed in biblical terms (4004 BCE), it does not really stand in any place or time in the real world. There was no Garden of Eden in all the time the world has existed.
4.6 billion years ago the earth was formed
It is a true statement that galaxies existed billions of years ago. It is estimated that planet Earth is approximately 4.54 billion years old.
There was no supercontinent back then. Earth is about 4.6 billion years old. It did not exist 5 billion years ago.
Around 14 billion years although neither the sun not the earth existed during the first 10 billion of them.
About half a billion years or so.
I would say around 8 billion years. Earth has been around for 5 billion years, and the universe has existed for only 13 billion. In other words, A LONG< LONG< time The universe has existed for 14 billion years. God!!
Most scientists agree that life on Earth appeared 3.6 billion years ago. The first life forms on the planet were prokaryotes.
The kingdom that has existed for at least 3 billion years is the Kingdom Bacteria. Bacteria are single-celled organisms that have been on Earth for billions of years and are among the oldest forms of life on our planet.
Life has existed for most of the history of Earth. It is not known exactly for how long, but it seems to have existed for at least 3.7 billion years; you can compare this with the 4.568 billion years that the Solar System existed. It is possible that life existed longer, but left no traces (fossils).
Current estimate of the Earth's age is about 4.5 billion years. The total age of the Universe (Big bang until now) is about 15 billion years.
Humans have existed for only about 0.2% of Earth's history, which is approximately 200,000 years out of Earth's 4.5 billion-year history. This indicates that humans are a relatively recent addition to the planet.
Hominids have existed for about 2.5% of geological time, which dates back to around 4.4 billion years. The earliest hominids emerged around 6-7 million years ago, while Earth has been around for about 4.5 billion years.
