Different historians use different dates. I have seen dates as early as 1400, and as late as 1517, each with its own reasons for being used. The most common date appears to me to be 1453, when Constantinople fell and the Hundred Years' War ended. In Britain, they tend to use 1485, which was the end of the Wars of the Roses. Some historians just use 15th century.
