Depends what type of brace or appliance you are going to have. I you have an plate or removable appliance definitely not, because they have to be made especially for your mouth and each are different. Traintracks also probably not because they usually put spacers in first to shift the teeth a bit. Don't ask me why. So my answer would be a no. After the have fitted there is usually an appointment to do all the preparatory things like spacers.
I always like to give my source especially on brace questions as when I was scared and getting them it helped to know that people had been through it and come through the other end unharmed. I'm not making the assumption that you are getting braces that was merely an example. My source is my friends who have had them all different types and my own personal experience. Removable appliance at the moment with fixed braces and headgear.
yes, well at least that is for me, my friends, and my sister. I got my braces 3 days ago and after they were done putting on my brackets, they let me rinse out my mouth, then they fit the wire to my mouth and put the colored bands on. If you didn't get the wire the same day as the brackets, there is no point of even wearing the brackets because the wire is what applies the pressure to the brackets and makes your teeth move. Hope that helps! :) good luck if ur getting
Not unless your treatment is really urgent. You usually make anather appointment.
it depends. I got braces 3 days ago and molds too, on the same day. They just took the molds and like right after they put my braces on. hope that helps!
i would sugest not eating them, the other day i was and i poped the back wire out but luckly i got it back in ! if you do be careful !
Most likely, yes. you have to get the molding. when you go into the dentist they put this sort of play dough on your teeth to make the shape of the braces
no i have braces and i tak the same as i did before.
Your teeth feel incredibly smooth, and, at least in the day of metal braces, your jaw feels lighter.
he appears to have them in the video "Pretty Girls Shake It"
I have got braces and was told that I can have one can of fizzy drink a day so that is the same with sweets. You will only have marks on your teeth if you do not clean them properly and twice a day. I eat what I normally do which does consist of sweets but the orthodontist says I am cleaning them very well and haven't been eating sweets! So yes they will leave marks if you do not clean your teeth properlyHope I helped and good luck with your braces!
i got my braces a few days ago and its only painful for the first day :)Rhiannonc says :I got my braces on (this is now friday-and to be completely honest , braces DO NOT hurt while they are being put on but a few hours afterwards when the wire begins to move your teeth , they become slightly achey, you could even use the word ''tender''. your orthodontist should give you wax and believe me this is a life saver ! with mine i also got a interdental brush , a sample mouthwash a sample toothpaste and a few leaflets , my braces now feel fine and i am getting use to them .Hope this Helped you !
you dont get your braces the first time you go. the first time they just ask you questions and see whats wrong with you teeth and stuff. the second time you go they willl probaly get a mold of your teeth and show you what they are going to do. the third or fourth time you go is when you get the braces glued onto your teeth but you dont get the wire that straightens your teeth yet. then the next time you go you get the wire.
No.In my opinion,That's not a big deal.
i just got mine off July 1 2009 and it didn't. i thought it would take a while but it happened in less than thirty seconds, but then again i only had 4 brackets and those weird things on the back. no it doen't hurt when it happens but the day after they are sore.
I went to the orthodontist today. On the first day I went they did molds and x-rays. At the second visit they will tell you what they need to do to your teeth, such as, orthopedic care or getting braces. Then on your third visit they will give you braces, however this is only if you need braces.
Actually, braces don't hurt. Your teeth are just sore from the orthodontist treatment you've been receiving. Your teeth are moving. In my case, my teeth aren't sore anymore because I've had them for almost two years. But your teeth could become sore if your orthodontist tightens your braces. Don't worry... the soreness will get away soon. Just hang in there.
