yes.i was on depo for a year.as soon as i got it for the 1st time then next month i stopped having my period.then when i got off it the next month i started my period back like normal
After the last shot of Depo Provera, it can take over 6 months for the drug to leave the body. But you should start another form of birth control after 6-12 weeks after your last shot.
No its not possible only if you were pregnant before you took the shot. some wome who take the shot don't get a period at all after the shot because of the hormones. It takes you 6-12 months to get a period again after you took the first shop and even longer if you are try to conceive after the shot because even if your 3 monts is up the homone is still in your system.
There is no estrogen in Depo Provera. It contains only progestin. The 3-month shot contains 150 mg of depot-medroxyprogesterone.
it is not a period it is heavy spotting.
Can a woman get her firs depo shot 6 days after her period?
As long as a woman has her period, if she is fertile, she can be impregnated.
"Yes you do i was on my period when i got my first shot an I've been on the shot for one year an i not had a period since" This is incorrect, they advise you to get the shot when your on your period as they need to be sure your not pregnant when you have the shot. If you've had your menstrual cycle but have not had sex since, they will still allow you to have the shot. Then you'll have to wait a certain amount of time until your protected. (they told me 7 days and this was 4 days after coming off my period) but the length of time may have something to do with where you are in your cycle.
yeah you could be but its also possible that stoppinq the shot can cause a late period
Most people on the shot don't usually have a period
Yes, this is a normal "side effect" of depo. My menses also stopped after my first shot.
Hi. Yes it is possible. Have been on depo twice and both times no period - going on six years this round.
The first shot of Depo Provera is usually given during or a few days after the start of a menstrual period.
