If you have an iTunes account for any type of iPod its the same type of rules although not quite as severe.
1 Account equals one profile period.
However you can "migrate" your account from one xbox or Xbox 360 to another one. Like if you get hardware problems and you have to replace it or you get one with a larger harddrive you can transfer all your achievements, game progress and account login and information from one 360 to another you can also log on at a friends house with little to no effort.
