check and clean the battery terminals
Battery? Ignition switch?
First check for a corroded or damaged battery terminal. Next check the battery.
yes, you have two run a wire from the ignition where the lights are and connect it two the battery, this will power it with out the emobiliser acting as the switch...
No power to ignition switch check fusible links at terminals just to rear of battery. No power to ignition coil, check ignition module inside distributor, fuse, main power connector to rear of battery.
With a battery or solar power!
The battery ,which gives power to the truck, looses its power because the lights use power from the battery to work. It's just like a batery for a toy.
When your lights are on and your engine is not running you are taking the power for your car lights directly from your battery. If you leave them on long enough, you will run down your battery and your car will not start. Then you will need a jump.
Battery may need charged. There may be enough power to turn on lights ect.. but not enough to start the engine.
Check for loose or corroded battery cables Could be starter solenoid is getting weak and needs replacing
Check headlights and dashboard lights first. If no/minimal power for the lights then replace battery.
Check the battery. Turn headlights on - they will come on with or without the key if it has power from the battery. If lights do not come on, the battery is dead (try jump-starting) or there is a bad connection (loose cable), or a short in the electrical system. If headlights come on, but dashboard lights do not light up - check the ignition (cylinder / switch)
The battery.
