NO! The only legal bar is that she must not be a catholic. Diana wasn't a princess before she married Charles. It remains to be seen what would happen if the heir to the throne was gay and had a civil partnership.

Usually, that's the case, since marrying a princess would increase power and land. Remember, in those times, princes didn't have a choice to chose to marry someone of "true love." I suppose it would depend on the current king (aka the prince's father).

Hope this helps . . . :)

No, over the last dozen or so years royals of different countrys have given up forcing their progeny to marry only other royals. In the last couple of years Williams distent cousins in Spain Norway and Denmark have married people who were not royal (one had an illegitimate child before marrying.) Also they have probably realized that marrying people that are not their third fourth or fifth (ect) cousin is better for the continuation of their royal line as well since they would not get stuck with rulers such as Carlos II (the bewitched) who was so imbreed that 7 of his 8 great-grandparents were decendents of Ferdinand and Isabella.

No.

Princess Margaret didn't

Princess Anne didn't

.... a commoner 'can' become a princess if they marry a prince, but a woman who was born a princess does not 'have to' marry a prince.
