When you press the gas in your truck it doesnt do anything for a second or two then it throttles up and right back down there is also a strong gas smell around the engine what caused this?

Could be several things. Could be a leak in the intake manifold somewhere. The injectors could be leaking. The fuel pressure regulator and\or the fuel pump could be malfunctioning. Impossible to diagnose over the computer. Gives you a place to start though. Good luck.
