The lever is on the left side of the drivers seat. Push down at the front of the lever; if you pull up, it will open the trunk
The lever on the floor at the left side of the drivers seat operates both the trunk & the gas tank door. 1)Pull the lever up to open the trunk 2) Push the lever down to release the gas tank door.
Check under the dash lower lefthand side. The lever should be next to the hood release lever.

I had to jam something on the release lever inside the door, and go around and manually pull the door open. The cause is that the spring had broken. The catch was being released, but nothing was pushing the door open. I have to buy a new spring and install it once it was open

There's a small lever on the front-left side of the driver seat...pull it up a time or two and the gas cap door should open up.
Push the lever and the door will open.
Make sure the driver's side door is unlocked otherwise fuel door will be locked automatically. If unlocked then there is a problem with the fuel door switch.
A door knob turns to let people open or close the door. For vehicles, a lever or button-lever opens the door. For swinging doors, body weight (pushing) opens a door.
The usual reason that a door will not open from the inside on a Nissan truck is because the door handle is broken on the inside. The door panel will have to be removed and the door handle repaired or replaced to open the door from the inside again.
