Sounds like a poor connection at the battery or starter.electrical connections.
Definitely sounds like a starter issue... if you're not hearing anything at all, it would likely be a bad solenoid, or a bad connection to the solenoid.
My 73 Bonneville has points type ignition. The later years had electronic ignition distributors, which had .045 or more gap. If you're engine is points type, the gap is .035.
Sometime the fuel pressure leaks down went he engine is turned off for a couple hours or more. If that happens the engine may be difficult to start later. Try turning on the ignition switch for a couple seconds allowing the fuel pump to build a little pressure, THEN crank the engine. See if it makes any difference.
Yes! If you take an uncoded key (like an emergency door key) and try to start the car, the ignition system will disable itself. This is why locksmiths generally will not cut a spare key for you, and if they are willing to cut one, some will make you sign a waiver that says you will not place the key in the ignition to avoid getting sued later. A dealer can unlock the system for you. <><><><><> There is also a procedure for coding a new key to your ignition system. Again, see the dealer.
Bad ignition switch or starter solenoid
You could have a problem will the battery or something with the ignition. Try leaving the vehicle off for a bit and trying again later.
If there is a single click from the starter area, the starter is bad. If not, it could be an ignition switch.
Pre 1993 was built with R12, 1994 and later uses R134a.
up till 1995 there where three, 1996 and later they use four.
Your transmission has a pin type connector. A switch to spade connectors was made in the later 1999 model Caravan. Thus, a '96, '97 or '98 trannie will fit your 1998 3.0 Caravan. Pre-96 bolted up differently, so anything older will not work.
1995 and before has a siphon port at the rear of the tank. 1996 and later has to be drained with the fuel pump, or by removing the filler hose.
I'm not sure if Dodge made a Caravan in 77 but if you have a later one, open the hood and check to make sure that the cowl water drain hose is inserted properly. If that drain hose is dissconnected water runoff will dump directly on to the serpentine belt and cause it to jump off. Think about it, was it raining when the belt jumped? That drove me nuts, been there, done that.
The coil is located on the Right inner fenderwell. The later type coil it is located in a black casing next to the top heater hose , immediately adjacent to the oil dip stick.
Will it crank? In other words, can you hear it trying to start? If yes, then it isn't the battery. If it simply does nothing, then yeah it could be the battery. Put any updates under '02 dodge caravan, and I'll check it later, and try to help you out more. Also include what, if any, effect the weather/tempurature has on the problem. This will help me narrow down possible causes.

Some of them are Tholos tombs. You know what a caravan is. The mausoleum (mausolleion) was the tomb of King Mausollos. Later large tombs could have that name.
The egr is located on the front cylinder head where the belts are located, it has a five wire connector an a tube that goes to the intake pleneum. Early 2004 egr's were vacuum and later ones were all electric.
