Underneath, right (passenger) side of the transmission pan, you'll see a plug (19 mm) - it's where a filler tube would normally go. If you unscrew the plug there's a little stubby dipstick inside. Remove the dipstick from the plug and you can check the fluid level. Really annoying.....They really want you to pay the $200+ to service the transmission.

On a 2007 Ford Expedition : The engine oil dipstick is on the drivers side of the engine near the engine coolant reservoir and the brake fluid reservoir

THere is no dipstick on a 2005-2007 Mustang since Ford considereds the transmission sealed it wont need fluid added unless it has a leak or you are changing the fluid.
The dipstick tube is on the passenger side of the engine compartment. The dipstick is a dealer only special tool.
