The largest population of Native Indians in Florida is the Miccosukee Indian Tribe. They are descendants of the Lower Chiaha, a Muskogee Creek tribe, and have had centuries of relations with the Seminole.
Their reservation is divided into three sections in two counties of southern Florida. Their total land area is about 332.183 km² (128.256 sq mi).

∙ 12y agoAt the time of the first white explorers in the region the Miami people were near Green Bay, Wisconsin. By 1680 they had moved to the Kalamazoo River, Michigan, then later along the Wabash and Miami rivers in Indiana.
The Miami suffered in conflicts with Americans and moved into Oklahoma, with only a few remaining in Indiana.
