Where are the freeze plugs on a 97 Grand Marquis?
If it has them they are located on the side of the block. They are actually casting plugs used to remove sand during casting, and have nothing to do with protection from freezing.
I have a 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis and my mother has a 2003 and they both are the same, so yours probably is also. After you pull the trunk lining away so that you can see the metal, there are 3 large black plastic wing nuts that you unscrew. Once you remove those, the tail light section will come out from the front and then you can get to the bulbs to replace them.

The person must then remove the spark plug cables, remove the spark plugs, and replace them with new spark plugs. After that, one must put the spark plug cables back in the correct order, then connect the battery.
