Under the hood you will see 2 cables comming from the throttle body. one is the foot pedal the other leads to the cruise control module. That is it! The cruise control unit is located inside the left front fender. You have to remove the wheel and wheel well liner to access it.
Your Ignition modules are located in the coil pack on top of your spark plugs.
The powertrain control module is bolted to the radiator support , at the front of the car, behind the grille.

Remove the retaining ring, from the top of your 1997 Ford Astro ignition lock cylinder. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the ignition lock cylinder.
Ignition control module.. located under the distributor The distributor cap is probably cracked and moisture is getting into it. Replace the cap .
Firewall Drivers Side
The only way I can explain it is to follow the wiring from your coil pack (where the spark plugs are) and the wires plug into the ignition module. Also go go www.wrenchead.ca and it has a manual that explains all. if you don't know the answer to a question please keep your moth shut ,please don't waste my time

The ignition switch is located inside the steering coulum below the key and tumbler.

The ignition timing is controled by the PCM (computer), which is located below the master cylender inside the dash panel. There is no separate ignition module.
The flashers are part of the directional stalk. This is for all 1995 - 1997 Lincoln Continentals.
