Most auto parts stores sell auto repair manuals (Haynes or Chilton) for about $11 - $14. (Pretty cheap investment for the do-it-yourselfer). Or, you could try your local public library to see if there is one available for checkout.

Toyota published a "Convertible Repair Manual Supplement" which covers top replacement. The manual is available from Toyota dealers and is publication number 00400-RM042-S.

You either take it to AutoZone and they will tell you why your check engine light came on in the first place so you can fix it. Or you go to AutoZone (or another place like it) and you buy the repair manual.

if you're going to pull the engine, i hope you have a repair manual. if not, you should go to your local advance auto parts store and get a haynes manual for your make and model car. they're about $20 and can save you a bunch of pain and trouble
Toyota Owners offers the2004 Toyota Highlander repair manual as a downloadable PDF. The auto companiesÕ website also provides warranty and maintenance guides for each Highlander model.
Google "Chilton Repair Manuals" or "Haynes Repair Manuals" and order one. I think they both show full wiring diagrams in the back reference sections.
Go to a Toyota dealer and purchase the mechanics/technical maintenance manual. It is what the dealers and repair shops use to service your car. It will pay for itself with just one use. It is also nice to read up on a repair the dealer needs to do on your car, just to make sure they don't try and rip you off.
